RETURN project final meeting: presentation of MEEO’s VICARIUS platform
We are proud to announce that MEEO took an active part in the final meeting of the RETURN project (Naples, 3-5 December 2025), presenting, during the poster session, the VICARIUS platform (Visual Integration for Climate Analysis of Risks and Impacts in Urban Systems).
RETURN (Multi Risk Science for Resilient Communities under a Changing Climate) is a National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) initiative that brings together research, industry, and institutions with the goal of strengthening the resilience of Italian territories to natural, environmental, and anthropogenic risks. The project is structured through cascading calls organized into thematic areas named “spokes.”
Through VICARIUS, MEEO contributed to this collective effort by developing a web-based platform capable of integrating harmonized near-real-time data from external sources with static information. The system presents its content through easy-to-read maps and a modular architecture.
Within the “Spoke 5 – TS1: Urban and Metropolitan Settlements”, VICARIUS addresses the need for tools that can visualize and communicate coexisting and interconnected risks in urban and metropolitan contexts, supporting coordinated decision-making across sectors.
