VICARIUS: Visual Integration for Climate Analysis of Risks and Impacts in Urban Systems
The VICARIUS project was developed within a call for proposals issued by the RETURN Foundation.
RETURN (Multi Risk Science for Resilient Communities under a Changing Climate) is a National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) initiative that brings together research, industry, and institutions with the goal of strengthening the resilience of Italian territories to natural, environmental, and anthropogenic risks. The project is structured through cascading calls organized into thematic areas named “spokes”.
Within the “Spoke 5 – TS1: Urban and Metropolitan Settlements”, VICARIUS is a web-based Minimum Viable Product (MVP) platform capable of integrating harmonized near-real-time data from external sources with static information. The system presents its content through intuitive maps and a modular architecture based on APIs and a dedicated geospatial microservice for webGIS and digital twin applications.”
